Welp, Darcy Kuemper chased from goal by Steven Stamkos, Ondrej Palat. Where does Jared Bednar turn now?

The three stars from Tampa Bay’s 6-2 victory over Colorado in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night at Amalie Arena:

Steven Stamkos, C, Lightning: Stamkos’ 10th postseason goal was the most galling for the Avalanche defense, as the former No. 1 overall pick found himself all alone in front of the Colorado net midway through the second period to slot home a goal that gave the hosts a 4-2 lead. No. 91 seemed to be everywhere, winning 18 of his first 26 faceoffs, and racking up two hits through the game’s first two-and-a-half periods. Goal No. 4 seemed to rattle Darcy Kuemper, the Avs’ starting goalie, who would wind up getting pulled a short while later.

Gabe Landeskog, RW, Avalanche: On an evening to forget for Avs fans, the captain came out firing. His two power-play goals gave the visitors hope while the game was still in reach, and his 10 faceoff wins through the game’s first 45 minutes showed the kind of grit you need away from home in a Cup Final.

Ondrej Palat, LW, Lightning: Want to keep the Lightning out of a series? Keep the 31-year-old Palat out of playing a major role. Tampa Bay is now 7-3 in the 10 Cup games in which the Czech winger has scored this spring, and his goal with 5:06 left in the first period gave the Bolts a 2-1 lead, their first lead of this series.
