Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has acknowledged receipt of his Globe Soccer Young Player of the year award for 2022.
The Napoli forward had beat of competition from Barcelona Midfielder Gavi and Real Madrid’s Valverde to the prestigious award.
Osimhen was not present at the award ceremony held in November 2022 in Dubai and only recently got his hand on the award plague.
In a post on his Twitter handle, the red-hot Napoli striker uploaded a picture of him with the award with the caption;
” Just Receive The @Globe_Soccer Award For The Power Horse Emerging Player Of The Year,Thank You For The Recognition,And To Those That Have Been Supporting Me Through The Years,I Appreciate Y’all.GOD Is The Greatest,”
Osimhen has begun 2023 from where he stopped in 2022, the 24-year old scored his 10th goal of the season as Napoli defeated Sampdoria in their first game of the year.
The forward currently leads the Serie A goal-scorers chart, his goal instrumental to Napoli’s position on top of the Italian Serie A standings.
