A 16-year-old boy died Christmas Day after he was fatally injured in a car crash on Christmas Eve, according to Aurora police.
The teenager, who has not been publicly identified, was driving a Mini Cooper around 8:30 p.m. Saturday near East Jewell Avenue and South Abilene Street when he crashed the Mini Cooper into an Acura whose driver turned left in front of him.
Police said the teenager was driving “at a high rate of speed” and that a passenger who was in the Mini Cooper, a man, was seriously injured but is expected to survive. The driver of the Acura, a woman, survived with minor injuries.
The injured teenager was taken to a hospital after the crash and died Sunday, police said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
