JAGUARS at JETS
8:15 p.m., Jaguars by 1 ½, 37 ½
HANK’S HONEYS: It’s a playoff-implicated showdown of the top two QBs of the 2021 draft and right now, there’s no comparison. Trevor Lawrence has made huge strides over the course of the season and has been playing with poise and confidence. Zach Wilson is starting only because the man he was benched for is injured. It’s going to be rainy and windy but not cold and that plays toward Lawrence’s arm strength and maneuverability.
Wilson’s limitations put the onus on the Jets’ running game, which has been non-existent since Breece Hall went out. He will also be up against defense that gives up plenty of yardage but thrives on big plays with 12 sacks and 12 turnovers over the last six weeks. Over that same time span, Lawrence has thrown for 14 touchdowns against a single interception. The Jets defense continues to play at a high level but will be under too much pressure here. This should be Lawrence’s prime time coming out party.
IF I WERE A BETTING MAN: Jaguars and the over.
