Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed from Limon to the Kansas state line because of severe weather and safety concerns.
The eastbound section of highway shut down because of “deteriorating road and weather conditions,” the Colorado State Patrol said in a 10:47 a.m. Saturday tweet.

Parts of Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas are under a winter storm warning until 8 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. The storm warning calls for heavy snow, from 3 to 9 inches, and winds gusting up to 35 mph.
“Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility,” the weather service said.
Kit Carson County, along with Sherman, Thomas, Sheridan and Graham counties in Kansas, are under the warning. The winter storm system is exiting Colorado from west to east.
Please be careful as you travel westbound Interstate 70 between Kansas and Limon.
Roads are icy and snow packed and there is limited visibility due to blowing snow.
