Coach Randy Waldrum has confirmed that Leicester City defender Ashleigh Plumptre will be available for Thursday’s quarterfinal clash against Cameroon.
The 24-year-old defender who picked up an injury in Nigeria’s 2-1 opening defeat to South Africa missed the remaining two group games against Botswana and Burundi.
But Plumptre is now said to be fit and ready to play when Nigeria tackle Cameroon for a place in the last four and world cup on Thursday.
“She’s fit and ready to play, it is my job to protect the players and ensure they are in top shape.
“She trained yesterday and she will be available for Cameroon.”
Nigeria and Cameroon will play at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca on Thursday at 6 pm.
