Phoenix Suns defeat Warriors, Pelicans edge Mavericks


2021 Western Conference champions Phoenix Suns defeated the reigning champions Golden State Warriors convincingly 134-105 in their NBA clash. The win gave the Suns their third win in four games this season, while the Warriors lost for the second time in four games.

Devin Booker led the scoring for his side with 34 points, two rebounds and seven assists, and DeAndre Ayton contributed 16 points and 14 rebounds. Chris Paul also scored 16 points and nine assists for the Suns as they ran away with the win. For the Warriors, Steph Curry led the scoring with 21 points and Jordan Poole contributed 17 points.

Elsewhere, a Zion Williamson-less New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Dallas Mavericks 113-111 to claim their third win of the ongoing NBA season. The Pelicans continue their impressive start to the season with the win over the Mavericks.

Trey Murphy III led the scoring for the Pelicans with 22 points and CJ McCollum scored 14 points and 11 assists in the game. Luka Doncic scored 37 points and 11 rebounds for the Mavericks in the clash despite the defeat.

Oklahoma City Thunder claimed a 108-94 win over the Los Angeles Clippers in their NBA clash to pick up their first win of the season. It was the Clippers’ second defeat in four games this season.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the scoring for the Thunder with 33 points while Tre Mann scored 25 points. Luke Kennard led the scoring for the Clippers with 15 points on the night.

Washington Wizards picked up a 120-99 win over the Detroit Pistons in their NBA clash for a third win of the season. The Pistons lost for a third time in four games this season.

Kyle Kuzma led the scoring for the Wizards with 25 points and Kristaps Porzingis contributed 20 points. For the Pistons, Bojan Bogdanovic scored 25 points and Cade Cunningham recorded 19 points.
