A person was killed early Wednesday morning after being hit by a vehicle.
The crash happened near 56th Avenue and Peña Boulevard near Gateway, the Denver Police Department said in a 5:05 a.m. tweet.
Heads Up: #Denver officers are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a motorist at 56th near Peña Blvd. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver remained on scene. The person who was hit died at the scene, police said, and the driver of the car stayed at the scene.
The crash closed 56th Avenue between Peña Boulevard and Tower Road.
