The University of Northern Colorado (2-7, 1-5 Big Sky) fell to Portland State (4-5, 3-3 Big Sky) in its conference game on Saturday in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Both teams have experienced their fair share of struggles this season, and after the bye week, UNC was specifically looking for a win. It has not been in the win column since Sept. 24, when it defeated Idaho State at home, and that didn’t change this weekend.
The Bears fell to the Viks, 35-21, despite leading 14-0 after the first quarter.
Both teams have struggled with consistency. That was on display in the contest with missed tackles, turnovers, dropped passes and penalties, but PSU was able to come out on top. It recorded 493 yards and 26 first downs.
UNC ended the game with 469 yards and 27 first downs. The offense had a resurgence late in the game, but it came a little too late.
