The police chief in New Castle has been arrested for investigation of felony menacing.
Anthony Andrew Pagni, 58, was booked into the Garfield County jail after an incident Friday evening, according to Town Administrator David Reynolds.
Pagni is on administrative leave from his post pending the outcome of the investigation, Reynolds said in a statement.
According to the sheriff’s office in custody roster, Pagni is being investigated for felony menacing aggravated with a weapon, along with two misdemeanors, prohibited use of a weapon and harassment (strikes, shoves, kicks).
Pagni also works as a firearms instructor at Executive Security International in Castle Rock.
