Former world number one Andy Murray came through a gruelling five-set match against Thanasi Kokkinakis to qualify for the third round of the 2023 Australian Open. Unseede qualifier Michael Mmoh stunned German 12th seed Alexander Zverev to qualify for the third round of the tournament. The American claimed a 6-7 6-4 6-3 6-2 win over Zverev in their clash.
JJ Wolf stunned 23rd seed Diego Schwartzmann in straight sets to qualify for the third round of the 2023 Australian Open. Wolf claimed a 6-1 6-4 6-4 win to progress.
In the women’s draw, World number two Ons Jabeur suffered a shock defeat to Marketa Vondrousova in three sets at the Rod Laver Arena. The Tunisian lost the match 1-6 7-5 1-6 to exit the tournament at the second round.
Fourth seed Caroline Garcia claimed a straight sets win over Canada’s Leylah Fernandez to qualify for the third round of the tournament in Melbourne. Garcia claimed a 7-6 7-5 win in the match.
Belinda Bencic defeated Claire Liu in straight sets to book her place in the third round of the 2023 Australian Open. The 12th seed claimed a 7-6 6-3 win in the match.
Anett Kontaveit was stunned by Poland’s Magda Linette in three sets as she exited the 2023 Australian Open in the second round. Linette won their match 3-6 6-3 6-4 to progress to the third round.
