A motorcyclist died Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Aurora, police said.
At about 12:05 p.m. Aurora received 911 reports of a crash at South Peoria Street and East Archer Place, according to a news release. Officer found an unresponsive 36-year-old man in the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The man was riding a Ducati motorcycle eastbound on South Peoria at a high speed, police said.
The motorcycle collided with a Cadillac sedan, whose driver was making a left turn from northbound Peoria onto Archer. The driver of the Cadillac remained on scene after the crash. No arrest or summons was issued. The crash remains under investigation.
Saturday’s crash is the 27th traffic-related fatality in the city this year, police said.
The identification of the motorcyclist will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office after family has been notified.
