A man found dead in Northglenn on Wednesday afternoon got into a confrontation with another man who shot him, police said.
The shooting happened at about 1:45 p.m. in the area of Fox Run Parkway and Fox Run Circle, police said.
Witnesses told police that prior to the shooting, the victim was driving a black Cadillac SUV with a Wyoming license plate when he stopped to pickup up a man who was wearing a gray hoodie, police said. The victim pulled a U-turn, stopped and got out of the Cadillac to confront a heavy-set bald man wearing a white t-shirt and dark shorts, who was standing on the sidewalk.
Both men brandished handguns and the victim was shot several times, police said.
The passenger who had been in the Cadillac drove off in the SUV toward West 104th Avenue. The shooting suspect fled the scene north on foot. The incident remains under investigation.
