The Orlando Magic are honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with week-long volunteerism starting Monday and concluding with an in-game celebration when they host the New Orleans Pelicans Friday.
As part of the team’s Volunteer Program, the Magic and their approximately 275 staff members will participate in 16 different volunteer opportunities throughout the week:
Monday
- Christian Services Center — beautification project;
- Pathlight HOME — beautification project;
- Ronald McDonald House Charities — baking;
Tuesday
- Harbor House — bulletin board decorating;
- United Against Poverty — grocery sorting;
- Second Harvest Food Bank — food sorting;
- Mustard Seed of Central Florida — mattress and donation sorting;
- Salvation Army — meal prep and service;
Wednesday
- Clean the World — soap sorting;
- Pet Alliance — car/vehicle washing;
- Quest Camp Thunderbird — beautification;
Thursday
- Habitat for Humanity — home build;
- Center for Independent Living — beautification;
- A Gift for Teaching — donation sorting;
- Boys and Girls Club — mural painting;
Friday
- Magic of Mentoring Minority Youth Summit — youth to receive a day-long enrichment seminar leading up to the Magic game;
