Ahead of their meeting on January 4, Inter Milan striker Romalu Lukaku had a confession to make.
Lukaku hailed Napoli’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the best striker in the Italian Serie A at the moment.
24-year old Osimhen has scored nine goals already this term to help Napoli to the top of the Serie A standings with a healthy advantage over AC Milan and the chasing pack.
WHAT LUKAKU SAID
Spalletti has done a great job, we have to say,” Lukaku told Sky Sports of the transformation at Napoli under Luciano Spalleti.
“They have really strong players. I’ve been out and seen many of their games. Napoli are in a good moment. Osimhen scores many goals, [Piotr] Zielinski is well, Kvara [Khvicha Kvaratskhelia], on the left, [Hirving] Lozano or [Matteo] Politano on the right, ”
“Osimhen is really strong. Now he’s the best striker. We have to be honest. He’s strong and he’s doing really well for Napoli. They are first in the standings. We have respect, but not fear”.
WHO ELSE IS PROUD OF OSIMHEN
Legendary Italian stars Totti and Inzaghi have recently also had praise for Victor Osimhen.
Totti described Osimhen as the “the strongest striker in Serie A” , Inzaghi went even further to rate the Nigerian as “the best right now beyond Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema and Olivier Giroud.”
Lukaku and Osimhen will go head to head at the San Siro on January 4, 2023 when Inter Milan hosts Napoli in the first Italian Serie A match since the World Cup break.
