Light snow on tap for Saturday night, a bigger storm set for Monday

Snow could make a return appearance Saturday night into Sunday morning, greeting some travelers returning home from the holiday weekend. But metro Denver should only see a dusting to a half inch, with a couple of inches possible in the foothills, according to a forecast from the National Weather Service in Boulder.

“It might get slick if you are doing some late-night driving tonight, especially in the foothills,” said Zach Hiris, a meteorologist with the NWS in Boulder. Snow should start falling a couple of hours after sunset in the foothills and make an appearance closer to midnight at lower elevations in the metro area.
