A busy stretch of northbound Interstate 25 in Thornton has been shutdown by a fatal auto-pedestrian crash.

The highway is closed northbound from Thornton Parkway to 104th Avenue, according to police. Southbound lanes are open. Traffic is being detoured to Huron, Grant and Washington streets. Drivers should expect long delays and avoid the area if possible.
