A 40-year-old woman died Tuesday in the Pueblo County Jail.

The woman was “found unresponsive” in her assigned cell at about 10 a.m., according to a sheriff’s department news release.

She was arrested Monday on two outstanding warrants and had been at the jail for less than 24 hours, the release said. She was not identified.

“There were no visible signs of trauma or foul play,” the sheriff’s office said. An investigation is ongoing.
