Former Super Eagles first choice goalkepeer Vincent Enyeama has declared he is open to playing in the NPFL for free with hometown club Akwa United FC .
Vincent Enyeama made this disclosure on Tuesday 30th August 2022 when he featured on ” Mid-Morning Sports Show ” with veteran broadcaster George Iniabasi Essien ( A.k.a Mighty George ) and the Comfort 95.1fm sports crew from his base in France .
Enyeama who turned 40 on Monday August 29 , also shared his thoughts on the NFF elective congress on 30th September to elective a new NFF board .
Enyeama said ” I have stopped playing football (actively) but I’m still traning , I’m still very fit to play . I am so tempted to go back to playing because it is so boring staying at home .
” I am not looking at playing for the National team because they are better Keepers than me at the moment. Even if it means playing for a local team (In France ) for free .

” If i am in Nigeria and Akwa United FC needs a goalkepeer . I’m not talking about playing for money . If Akwa United FC need a goalkepeer for let’s say 4-5 months , I will play for free . ” The former Lille Shot-Stopper said .
Vincent Enyeama has been away from football since 2018 when he left French Ligue One side Lille OSC . The 101 cap Nigerian International however disclosed he has been training privately at home . A routine he has found ” Boring “.
” It’s difficult to be training alone at home when you know you can still be out there doing the thing , so i can play for free , it’s nothing . ”
Enyeama’s Super Eagles teammate Ogenyi Onazi earlier this week completed a move to Italian Serie D side and the France based shots stopper supports his decision though he believes a deal in a competitive league back home would been better .
” It is better to be playing than to stay at home. If his decision is to play in the Serie D , i support him though i would have him play competitive football back home but since he has chosen the Serie D , I support him .” Enyeama opined .
In 2020 , Enyeama was appointed as one of the goalkepeer trainer at French National 3 side Iris Club De Croix . Enyeama Sportsration understands is currently doing his Coaching badges in view of a possible managerial shot .

When asked by one of the presenters Monday Thomas about a possible place in the Super Eagles coaching crew , Enyeama declared he will never say no to Nigeria .
” Yes (to a Super Eagles coaching job ) . I have always said it , I will never say no to Nigeria . ” The 2013 AFCON Winner stated .
On the NFF elections , Vincent Enyeama declared his support for the Ex-players in the presidential race to succeed Amaju Pinnick who he believes has done a great job for Nigerian football .
