Hundreds of flights at Denver airport canceled, delayed on Christmas

Denver International Airport’s travel woes continued on Christmas Day with more than 100 flight cancelations and nearly 300 delays by late Sunday morning.

More than 1,000 flights in and out of DIA were canceled Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the wake of historic subzero temperatures.

Cancelations continued Sunday. As of 11 a.m., 137 flights into and out of DIA had been canceled and 299 flights delayed, according to FlightAware.com.

The bulk of the cancelations continue to come from Southwest Airlines, which had canceled 76 flights in an out of Denver on Sunday as of 11 a.m., followed by United Airlines with 30 cancelations and Delta Airlines with 13.
