A glider pilot died Thursday in a crash at the Rifle Garfield County Airport, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash occurred around 5 p.m. and will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
The sheriff’s office did not provide any further information about the crash, and said the Garfield County coroner will release details about the pilot, including his identity, after an autopsy is performed.
