The roof of a single-family house near Sloans Lake was engulfed in flames early Wednesday morning, the Denver Fire Department reported, but the fire is now under control.

The fire was reported about 4:35 a.m. at 16th Avenue and Tennyson Street in West Colfax just south of Sloans Lake, and crews battled the fire for at least an hour before it was under control.
No injuries were reported, and fire investigators were on the scene, according to the Fire Department.
