The driver connected to a fatal hit-and-run crash in Wheat Ridge has been found and the case has been turned over to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, police said.
On the night of Sept. 29, 56-year-old Carmen Cennamo fell off of the sidewalk and into the roadway at West 41st Avenue and Kipling Street, police said. Cennamo, who used a walker, was hit by a vehicle. The driver did not stop. Cennamo later died at a local hospital.

Police investigators, using video evidence, were able to identify the vehicle in the incident and eventually the driver, police said.
“Our investigation into the driver’s and passenger’s accounts of what happened revealed they were both unaware someone had been struck,” police said in a news release.
The case has been referred to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for review, prosecutors will determine whether charges will be filed, police said.
