Denver weather: Warm, windy Tuesday expected

Denver could see temperatures up to nearly 70 degrees during a sunny and windy Tuesday.

The day is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 68 degrees, but a chance of cloud cover could lower the high temperature. Denver’s low Tuesday night will be 35 degrees. The rest of the week will cool off slightly to highs in the mid-40s.

Strong winds are likely Tuesday, and a high wind warning is in effect from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the foothills of western Jefferson and Boulder counties. Most forecasts show winds could reach gusts up to 85 mph.

The high winds also add to fire danger, as they will push onto the plains where humidity is as low as 15%. The Interstate 25 Corridor has elevated fire danger as well with humidity dropping to the teens and wind gusts reaching 35 mph.

In the mountains over the Park Range, snow will develop and up to 6 inches could fall by Wednesday morning.
