Denver police discovered a girl’s body overnight Sunday and determined she had been killed, the department said.

A “juvenile female” was found dead in the 4900 block of N. Salida Street, police said at 6:55 a.m. Monday. Investigators are treating the case as a homicide.

The police department did not say at what time the body was discovered and did not return a request for more information Monday.

It was not immediately clear how the girl died, how old she was or why police are treating the case as a homicide. The victim has not been publicly identified.
