Denver police arrested a suspect in the killing of 16-year-old Tayanna Manuel, the department said in a news release Saturday evening.
Police did not name the suspect because he is a minor, but he is being held for investigation of first-degree murder, police said. Officers discovered Tayanna’s body in the 4900 block of N. Salida Street on Dec. 26.
Investigators previously connected a gray 2012 Honda CR-V to the killing and asked for the public’s help tracking down the vehicle, which had a license plate of CNE-147.
Denver police spokesman Kurt Barnes declined to share any more details about the case Sunday, and could not say what led police to charge the juvenile or what might have motivated the attack.
