Denver police arrested a man Wednesday night in connection with two homicides reported on successive days this week near Interstate 70.
Andrew Mutch, 34, was arrested Wednesday and is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, Denver police said in a news release posted to Twitter on Thursday. Hours before Mutch’s arrest, police had responded to the death of an adult male found outside near Washington Street and Interstate 70. Another man had been found dead under a highway ramp in same area Tuesday morning, and both deaths were subsequently determined to be homicides.
The deaths are now believed to be connected, police said Thursday, and investigators “quickly identified” Mutch as a suspect in the killings.
Representatives for Denver police and the city’s medical examiner did not immediately return messages seeking more information. Mutch’s arrest affidavit has been sealed.
