Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Clippers Preseason NBA Odds and Predictions for October 12, 2022 – The Denver Post

[ad_1]

Both the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers hope to be a significant part of the playoff picture in the Western Conference, as the Clippers will be welcoming back Kawhi Leonard this season, whereas the Nuggets will be getting Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. back.

Both teams are expected to do significantly well this upcoming season, but a lot of their respective success will come down to health and how well they can mesh together.

Los Angeles Clippers Preview: Can this team finally get to the Finals?

The expectations for the Clippers over the past few seasons have been Finals or bust, but who can blame people for having those expectations?

The team has both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, as both are elite wing players that can score the ball at a high rate and play suffocating defense out on the wings. They are a dream duo to have.

This team also has a ton of depth, with John Wall, Reggie Jackson, Robert Covington, Norman Powell, Nicolas Batum, Ivica Zubac, and several other guys. There is a ton of offense and defense that comes out of this entire group.

Now, of course, health will be a huge question mark, as Leonard especially has had a tough time staying healthy.

However, Leonard has proven time and time again that he can overcome injuries and be a dynamic player in the postseason, as evidenced by his two Finals MVPs.

This will be a fun season if you’re a Clippers fan, for sure.

Denver Nuggets Preview: Could Nikola Jokic win MVP again?

Nikola Jokic will continue to lead the team in points, rebounds, and assists. He’s that dominant of a player.

But when it comes to the rigors of the playoffs, Jokic can definitely use some help from his Nuggets teammates, and that is where the return of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. will help significantly.

Murray proved that he can be one of the elite scorers in the league when he’s healthy.

Porter Jr. has proven that he can be a deadly scorer with his frame and attributes, but health has really held him back.

Add in the depth of the Nuggets with Bruce Brown, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Aaron Gordon, Bones Hyland, and Jeff Green, and this team will be in business this season.

If Jokic can be the man to lift this group into legitimate NBA contention, there’s no reason why he can’t be the MVP again.

Our Betting Prediction

The Nuggets will be home, so they’ll have an edge. However, this game could go either way, depending on how many minutes the regular rotation players play.
