The Denver metro area will get a second day of cooler temperatures and moisture before the heat returns this weekend.

The National Weather Service expects Friday may bring scattered showers and thunderstorms. While the chance for Denver getting rain is 50%, other parts of the state are expected to get heavier rainfall.

Friday’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high of 84 in Denver.

Overnight, temperatures are expected to drop to a low of around 60 degrees. A 20% chance of rain remains possible before midnight.

A hazardous weather outlook was issued for northeast and north central Colorado by the weather service, citing potential hail, strong winds up to 50 mph and possible flash flooding.

Saturday could bring some moisture as well with a 20% chance of showers after noon in the forecast.
