A man was shot dead in Commerce City, and police have identified an at-large suspect in the case.
At about 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a 911 call on a shooting in the 7000 block of Elm Street, police said in a news release. Officers found a man lying in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
The victim was involved in an altercation on the block prior to the shooting, police said.
On Thursday night police identified 68-year-old Marcus David Garrard as a suspect in the shooting. Investigators are looking for Garrard. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 (STOP).
A Commerce City Police Department investigation is ongoing.
