The Colorado State Rams will meet against the Nevada Wolf Pack on Friday, October 7, for what should be a lopsided affair for Nevada.
Nevada is typically one of the better mid-major programs in the entire country, and although the start of the season hasn’t been anything that they were hoping for, this is a great opportunity for them to turn their fortune around against a Colorado State team that’s going to be coming into this one at 0-4 and hasn’t competed in any of their first four games.

Colorado State has had a start to the season that no team would necessarily hope for. At 0-4, they can pretty much kiss their season goodbye at this point in terms of any noise being made in the Mountain West.
They have played Washington State and Michigan, who are typically two of the better teams in the entire nation, but they weren’t able to compete in any of those games, only managing to score a combined 14 points in both of those.
They also have losses to Middle Tennessee State and Sacramento State, who, quite frankly, aren’t typically good programs in college football.
Nevada Preview: Can Nevada Get An Easy Win?
The Nevada Wolf Pack also haven’t had a season that this organization was necessarily hoping for. The Wolf Pack have had years in the past where they are one of the best mid-major programs in the entire country, and that was evident during the 2021-2022 season as they finished at 8-5.
That’s not necessarily a great season for Nevada, but it still shows that this team has more than enough to compete with most teams in the country. Their three losses are inserting this season.
The reason for saying that these losses have been strange for Nevada is because they’ve lost to Iowa and Air Force, who are two of the better teams in the country but also haven’t lost to an Incarnate Word team that shouldn’t have been on the same field as them.
They have some impressive wins throughout the first five games of the season, including beating Texas State and New Mexico State.

Our best bet for this game is going to be taking Nevada at -3.5. Personally, we view this as one of our locks of the college football weekend as Nevada is a significantly better team than Colorado State.
