Chukwueze scores first goal under new manager to keep Villarreal 100% #UECL record

Samuel Chukwueze has become the first player to score for Villarreal under their new manager Quique Setien after a goal in his club’s 2-2 draw against Hapoel Beer Sheva on Thursday.

The Nigerian attacker was given a starting berth on the right flank by the former Barcelona manager, Quique Setien who replaced Unai Emery who joined Aston Villa during the week.

And he rewarded the trust put in him with a great goal in the 57th minute to cancel out Hapoel Beer Sheva’s goal scored by Tomer Hemed.

Arnaut Danjuma gave Villarreal the lead in the 70th minute but Sagiv Yehezkel restored parity for the visitors.

Samuel Chukwueze was on the pitch the entire time as the Europa Conference League game between Villarreal and Hapoel Beer Sheva at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia ended 2-2.

The result meant Villarreal who played in the UEFA Champions League semis last season maintained their 100% unbeaten record at the Europa Conference League.

As for Chukwueze, the goal was his 3rd in 7 games (including qualifiers).

The Nigerian has contributed a total of 6 goals (3 goals, 3 assists) in 7 games for Villarreal in the Europa Conference League this season.
