‘Chelsea Can Cause Man City Problems’

Under-fire Chelsea coach Graham Potter has revealed that his team can put spanner in the works of Manchester City as they prepare for a face-off in the Premier League.

Chelsea will welcome Man City to Stamford Bridge on Thursday in a clash that promises to be interesting.

The Blues have struggled for consistency in recent games  and played out an uninspiring 1-1 draw with Nottingham on Sunday.

They are now 10 points behind Manchester United in the fourth position.

The former Brighton manager believes his team can put pressure on Manchester City in a bid to get their season back on track.

“They are a top team but we can cause them a problem, we can be ourselves and try to play well and put them under pressure,” he said. “We need to use Stamford Bridge and then see what happens.

“We have to think about ourselves, how we can do better, how we can take steps forward in our game. That is the approach we’ll have.”

Manchester City played out a disappointing 1-1 draw against Everton and they will  be looking at winning at Stamford Bridge to keep their title hopes alive.

Potter refused to make comments on January transfer plans as Chelsea have been linked with numerous players.

“It’s a good question but the problem is if I answer it and I’m specific in that answer, every single player in that area will be linked with Chelsea,”

“So I have to dodge it – and I hope you can understand why I’m dodging it. I always answer that part of the question by saying that I’m the head coach and my responsibility is to the players that are here.

“We will try in every window to improve, but January is a complicated one because it’s the middle of the season.”

Chelsea have only won one out of their last six matches in all competitions.
