Kendall Hinton spent three weeks of his practice squad tenure this fall serving as essentially Denver’s No. 3 wide receiver.
Now he’s getting promoted. The Broncos announced his signing to the 53-man roster Monday among a slew of transactions.
Hinton had to be added to the 53-man roster in order to play again this season because he had already been elevated from the practice squad three times this year, the maximum allowed by the NFL.
Hinton (four catches for 86 yards) has essentially been the Broncos’ third receiver behind Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy, playing at least 30 snaps in three straight games before finding himself inactive for Thursday night’s loss against the Colts.
IR moves. The Broncos placed three players on injured reserve after they suffered injuries Thursday night: Left tackle Garett Bolles (right leg), cornerback Ronald Darby (left knee) and long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer (wrist).
The Broncos have two open spots on their 53-man roster after signing Hinton and putting the trio on IR.
Denver will have to find a long snapper from outside the organization this week. The franchise had a group in for workouts and visits Monday and has had players at the position in multiple times since training camp began.
Practice squad moves. Denver on Monday also signed veteran linebacker Harvey Langi to its practice squad and released tight end Dominique Dafney. Langey has played in 40 career games (10 starts) for New England Patriots and the New York Jets and played in two games for the Patriots this season.
