Denver will be without left tackle Cam Fleming (quad) and cornerback Darrius Phillips (illness) on Sunday against Tennessee, while two other players dealing with illness are making the trip and remain questionable, the team announced Saturday.
Fleming was a limited participant in practice this week, but will not make the trip with Denver to Nashville. Phillips missed the past two days of practice with an illness that a source told The Post is not COVID-related and is also staying back in Denver.
Rookie outside linebacker Nik Bonitto and wide receiver Kendall Hinton, meanwhile, made enough progress in recovering from illness that they are making the trip and remain questionable. The fact that they are well enough to travel at least gives them a chance to play Sunday.
Both were participants in Thursday’s practice, but neither were present Friday during the open portion of practice in the locker room afterward. Head coach Nathaniel Hackett declined to specify what type of illness the players were dealing with, but a source said they do not have COVID.
Outside linebacker Baron Browning (groin), wide receiver KJ Hamler (hamstring) and tight end/fullback Andrew Beck (hamstring) were ruled out of the game Friday. Safety Justin Simmons (knee sprain) remains questionable.
