Jonas Johansson is a member of the Avalanche — again.
The 26-year-old goaltender on Wednesday was claimed by Colorado off waivers from Arizona. This will be his third stint with the Avs in less than two years.
Johansson was originally acquired by the Avs in March 2021 in a trade with Buffalo. He re-signed for a one-year deal with the team after the season’s end. In December 2021, he was placed on waivers but was claimed by Florida. In July 2022, he signed a one-year contract with Colorado. The team waived him in September and he was claimed by Arizona.
The 6-foot-5 Swede has been a depth goalie for Colorado, appearing in 17 games (13 starts) and compiling an 8-3-2 record with a .895 save percentage and 2.90 goals-against average. He was selected in third round (61st overall pick) in the 2014 NHL entry draft.
