An arrest was made after police stopped a vehicle and found nearly 30 pounds of cocaine and two handguns in what started as a speeding violation.
According to a press release from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-70 near Mile Post 7.
Police say they seized roughly 29.2 pounds of cocaine and two handguns at the stop, prompting the arrest of Jaylin Lemons, 22, from Phoenix.
Lemons was arrested for possession with intent to distribute more than 225 grams of cocaine, special offender for being in possession of a firearm and multiple traffic violations, police say.
Lemons was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility.
