Karim Benzema won the biggest prize at the 2022 Ballon d’Or in a ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris on Monday.
The French forward who led Real Madrid to the UEFA Champions League and La Liga double beat off competitions from Saido Mane, and Kevin de Bruyne to claim his first Ballon d’Or award.
Bayern Munich and Senegal forward, Saido Mane also won the inaugural Socrates award for his social commitment to his country.
Alexia Putellas won the women’s Ballon d’Or for the second consecutive time. Asisat Oshoala finished 16th.
