A chance for snow is in the metro-area forecast in the coming week, but accumulation will likely be limited.
On Saturday in Denver, skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temperature will climb to about 58 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Overnight in the city skies will be mostly cloudy and the low will dip to around 28 degrees.
In the mountains on Saturday, winds will gust up to 50 mph along the higher peaks before noon, with winds decreasing as the day progresses, according to the weather service. There’s a chance for light snow Saturday night in the mountains, mainly north of Interstate 70, in the higher terrain.

In Denver on Sunday mostly cloudy skies will bring a chance of rain and snow showers, mainly after 5 p.m., skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temp will be near 46 degrees, the weather service said. The chance for precipitation is 30%, little or no snow accumulation is expected. On Sunday night in the city, there’s a chance of rain or snow before 8 p.m., then a chance of snow between 8 and 11 p.m., skies will be mostly cloudy and the overnight low temp will be near 26 degrees. Accumulation, if any, will be light.
On Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, skies over Denver will be mostly sunny and the high temperature will be near 46 degrees.
Light snow is expected in the mountains on and off during the upcoming week, but accumulations are expected to be minimal. A scattering of light snow is expected on and off this week on the plains as well.
